Are you looking for information about your horn?

I will research some basic information for you about your horn such as the type of instrument, the correct name of the instrument, the age of the instrument, the history and location of manufacturer, the approximate value of your horn, and any other trivial bits of information that I can dig up. For this information I charge a minimal fee of $25. All you need to do is pay via PayPal (send to my email address), check, or money order, and I'll gladly provide what information I can.

The information I will send you is based on reference materials that I have collected over the years plus my own experience of continually buying and selling 100's of  antique and vintage brass wind instruments. I have information on 1,000's of makers and instruments. The volume of information I give you will depend on the volume of information available to me on a particular horn and their makers. When apprising at instrument, keep in mind that we are dealing with a collectible item. What is worth $300 to me may only be worth $150 to another collector, and visa-versa.

If I can find no information about the horn that you request, I will reimburse to you $20.

Why do I charge $25?

My web site and collecting hobby has attracted daily emails in regards to me providing information about horns for people. I originally answered all the email that I received for free, but the volume became overwhelming. I also learned that most of the research I was doing was only to help people with their online auctions so they could make more money. I can’t afford to spend the time answering each email by researching and appraising instruments without some kind of compensation for my time and expertise. Besides this collecting hobby, I have a family of 5, own two businesses, volunteer my time maintaining 5 web sites for different organizations and play lead trumpet in two bands on a regular basis. Needless to say, time is precious to me.
