Cornet Conspiracy 2007
Final Schedule & Presentations
Update: 04/27/08
SUNDAY, JUNE 3rd
| Before 6:00 PM - We will be hanging out at the hotel on Sunday to meet you guys as you come in and coordinate rides to the Capital Ale House. We will probably leave there around 6:00, so if you arrive after that, you are on your own! Sorry there is no free "Happy Hour" at the hotel like last year, but there is a restaurant/bar where you might find us! | |
| 6:30 - We will begin with a Meet and Greet dinner at the Capital Ale House at - www.capitalalehouse.com. There are 2 Capital Ale Houses. The one we are going to is in Downtown Richmond. Driving directions from Doubletree Hotel Richmond, 5501 Eubank Rd, Sandston, VA to Capital Ale House, 623 E Main St, Richmond. It has one of the the best beer/food selections in Richmond and they are giving us the back room. |
MONDAY, JUNE 4th
| 8:00-10:00 - We will be spending most of the day on Monday at the Doubletree for displays, presentations, and show and tell. A nice continental breakfast will be served outside the conference room from 8-10 am. The room will be open at that time for set-up, etc. | |
| 9:00-11:30 - Display Show & Tell in the Hotel Conference Room. Moderated by Nick DeCarlis. This will be an opportunity for participants to present their most interesting instruments to the group, and explain why they are meaningful -- how they were discovered and/or restored, why the design is unique, etc. Each person wishing to participate will make a presentation on one instrument no longer than 5-10 minutes (so we have enough time to respond to any questions), after which we will proceed to the next participant. We will make subsequent rounds of presentations, as time permits, for those with multiple instruments to discuss. | |

There should be time enough to visit the museum, which specializes in a wide variety of period displays (North, South, and African American). Both museums will give our members free admission and will publicize the event in the newspapers and on the Richmond/Petersburg official events calendar for the Jamestown 2007 Commemoration. | |
